Issuing and obtaining a driver's license in Kharkiv

The categories of driver's rights and their classification are described in the Road Traffic Convention of November 8, 1968 (Vienna). The Vienna Convention of 1968 provides for 4 categories of rights:
● Category A - motorized vehicles and motorized strollers (motorcycles and scooters);
● Category B (category b) - cars and other cars that meet the requirements of this category of driver's rights;
● Category C - "small" trucks and large ones;
● Category D (category d) - "small" buses and large ones.

Categories of driver's rights in Ukraine

To date, there are categories of driver's rights in Ukraine with subgroups, and there are a total of 14 categories of driver's rights. Below is a description of the categories of driver's rights:
● Category of rights A1 - category of rights for scooters, scooters, mopeds, other two-wheeled and three-wheeled vehicles, with an engine volume of up to 50 cubic meters. cm (or an electric motor with a capacity of up to 4 kW), the transfer of rights to category A1 is possible from the age of 16.

● The B1 category of rights is the category of rights for quadricycles and tricycles, motorized strollers, three-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles with a weight of no more than 400 kg. Category B1 driver's license opens from the age of 18.
● License category B - a license category for a passenger car, the mass of which does not exceed 3,500 kg (7,700 pounds), and the number of seats (except for the driver's seat) is eight. This is the category of rights for a Hummer, if its weight does not exceed 3500 kg, if your Hummer exceeds it, then you need to pass the category C license. You can pass the test for category rights from the age of 18.
● VE license category — the category of rights for a trailer to a passenger car, i.e. vehicles with a tractor of category B. A driver's license for the VE category can be obtained only from the age of 19.
● License category C1 - trucks (small trucks) weighing between 3,500 and 7,500 kg (7,700 and 16,500 pounds). Training for category C1 rights is possible from the age of 18.
● License category C1E — a small truck with a trailer, the weight of which exceeds 750 kg. delivery of rights for category C1E is allowed only from the age of 19.
● License category C - trucks weighing more than 7,500 kg (16,500 pounds). It is important that gazelles require category C licenses, but there are brands of this car that fit category b. You can also apply for category rights from the age of 18.
● Category for EC rights – trucks with a trailer weighing more than 750 kg. Studying for the license of the ECE category and obtaining a driver's license with the ECE category is possible from the age of 19.
● D1 category of rights - rights for a bus (small bus) for the transportation of passengers, with no more than 16 seats (except for the driver's seat). You can open a bus category (category d) only from the age of 21.
● License category D1E - a small bus with a trailer weighing more than 750 kg. You can pass your D1E license after 21 years of age.
● Rights category D - rights for a bus for the transportation of passengers, with the number of more than 16 seats. You can apply for a category d license from the age of 21.
● License category DE - a large bus with a trailer, where the number of seats is more than 16. License category d is also opened after the age of 21.
● Rights category T - category of rights for trams and trolleybuses. Categories of driver's rights of this type can be opened after the age of 21.
